The campsite is adjacent to Pui O Beach, perfectly balancing natural scenery with convenience. Wake up to the sea breeze and birdsong in the morning, stroll along the soft sand, and watch the sunlight shimmer on the ocean. In the afternoon, play in the waves or set up a tarp on the shore for some shade. In the evening, watch the sunset paint the sky, and after dark, fall asleep to the sound of waves and starlight, offering both atmosphere and a sense of healing.
As an official campsite managed by the LCSD, Pui O's facilities address common concerns for new campers. The campsite offers 54 designated pitches, an ample number, allowing for immediate setup most of the time without needing to book days in advance, making spontaneous trips easy to arrange. Flush toilets, changing rooms, and public barbecue pits are all available, along with pavilions for rest and shelter from rain. Staff are also on-site to assist with any issues, ensuring a strong sense of security.
Resupply is also very convenient, as Pui O Village has several general stores where drinks, snacks, instant food, and even emergency camping accessories can be easily purchased. There's no need to carry heavy gear over long distances, truly enabling light travel and stress-free camping.
🚗 Transportation Guide
From MTR Tung Chung Station Exit B, proceed to the bus terminal and transfer to bus 3M (towards Mui Wo). The journey takes about 25 minutes. Alight at the "Pui O Public School" stop and walk approximately 5 minutes following the signs towards Pui O Beach. The path is flat and requires no climbing, making it easy even with gear.
🔔 Reminder: Buses can be crowded on weekends and public holidays, so consider traveling during off-peak hours. Drivers can park at Pui O Village car park, but spaces are limited, so it's advisable to arrive early.
💡 FunPeak Gear Tips
For beginners, we recommend choosing an introductory camping set, which includes a 2–3 person tent, sleeping bags, and moisture-proof mats. Renting everything at once saves the high cost of purchasing gear, minimizing trial-and-error expenses. For beachfront camping, consider adding a folding beach mat and a sunshade tarp for better sun protection and comfort during the day. The evenings by the sea can be cool, so an extra thin blanket will make it more comfortable.
