┃Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)┃
How do Funpeak's summer activities differ from typical summer camps?
We emphasize "immersive outdoor experiences," combining nature exploration, physical challenges, and teamwork, to empower children to learn independence and problem-solving skills in a classroom without walls.
How do I book?
All bookings must be made online. This process ensures we accurately collect all necessary information. All payments must be completed online; we do not accept same-day payments,
Can children who can't swim or aren't very good at swimming participate?
Please rest assured, it is possible! We require all participants to wear life jackets when engaging in water activities where the water depth exceeds their knees. Professional instructors will be present throughout the activity at a 1:8 ratio to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time! If a child truly does not want to participate in a certain activity, please do not worry. We adhere to the principle of encouragement, not coercion, and no staff member will force students to participate in activities that make them uncomfortable.
How is safety ensured during the event?
Safety is our top priority. All instructors hold professional certifications (such as life-saving, first aid, or climbing qualifications), and the instructor-to-student ratio is strictly maintained at 1:8 or lower. Contingency plans are also implemented based on weather changes.
What are the qualifications of the导师团队?
Our team consists of experienced outdoor education specialists who not only possess technical skills but are also adept at inspiring children's curiosity and leadership.
Will the Shan Hai Experience Summer Camp provide food?
This depends on the type of activity you are attending. Details are as follows:
- 5-day 4-night, 3-day 2-night, 2-day 1-night camp:
We provide meals starting with dinner on the first day, and offer three balanced meals. If participants have any food allergies, please be sure to indicate them on the registration form.
- Single-day camp:
Meals are not provided for this activity. Participants need to bring their own lunch and snacks. We recommend preparing sandwiches, rice balls, energy bars, and sufficient drinking water.
Can my child be in the same group as his friends or siblings?
Children will be grouped primarily by age. If you have any special grouping requests, please indicate them in the online registration form. If registering with multiple friends or siblings, please list the person you most wish to be grouped with at the top of the list. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but please understand that sometimes it may not be possible to fully satisfy them due to the need to balance overall activity quality and age appropriateness. Thank you for your understanding.
Can children bring smartphones and other smart devices?
To help children focus more on the activities, we will manage mobile phones uniformly. Every evening, a fixed time slot will be arranged for children to use their phones to contact their families. For the rest of the time, the camp will keep the phones to help children stay focused on the activities and enjoy time with their companions.
Will photos be taken during the event?
Photos taken during the event will be shared with you via Google Drive after the event, making it easy for you to access the wonderful moments of your children. However, our primary goal is to ensure every participant has a safe, enjoyable, and fulfilling experience. Our team will do its best to capture moments when appropriate, so photo-taking capabilities may sometimes be limited. Nevertheless, we will still try to take as many photos as possible to share your children's unforgettable memories with you.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the event (e.g., Black Rainstorm Warning or typhoon)?
If the activity cannot proceed due to weather conditions, we will arrange make-up classes or refunds according to our guidelines. Please refer to the registration handbook or consult our on-site staff for specific terms.
Can parents accompany their children or watch nearby?
To foster children's independence, most courses recommend that children attend independently. However, we also have specially designed "Parent-Child Integrated Camps" where parents are welcome to explore nature with their children!
What specialized equipment do I need to bring for the event?
Most professional equipment (such as life jackets, tents, and gear) is provided by Funpeak. Participants only need to wear appropriate sportswear and athletic shoes, and bring sun protection.
